Bellevue College women’s tennis split a pair of matches against four-year college non-league opponents, winning 9-1 over Willamette before turning around the next day and bowing 6-2 to UC-Santa Cruz. The matches were held at Willamette University in Salem, OR. Moriah Austin won #1 singles 6-1, 6-0 and also paired with BC’s #2 singles player, Marissa Kirk to win #1 doubles, 8-4. In the UC-Santa Cruz match Austin again won #1 singles over Santa Cruz’ Sylvia Brummitt in straight sets 7-5, 6-3. The Bulldogs also won points at singles #4 (Candice Canley) and #6 (Ha Nguyen). BC lost all three doubles matches which would ultimately cost them the match.

Bellevue’s next match is April 13 at 2:00 p.m. against Highline. Matches will be played at the Boeing Employee Tennis Center in Kent.
