Bellevue College got off to the right start this spring as they won the opening league match, which counts towards the conference championship, by shooting a two-day total of 609; six strokes better than runner-up North Idaho College. The Bulldogs were also assisted in part by a North Idaho player who was disqualified. The miscue ended up costing an 8-stroke difference in North Idaho’s team score which catapulted Bellevue to the top by two. Bellevue had a balanced attack as BC’s Evan Galando, who is coming off a broken collar bone injury from snowboarding in the off-season, along with Dexter Simonds, and Matt O’Brien, all finished 8-over par over two days co-finishing for sixth place in the individual competition. Right behind them at 10-over was sophomore Isaac Hall. The win came in part by the hot play of Simonds and O’Brien who shot 74 and 72 respectively. Curtis Koltermann finished 29th shooting 79-83 for 18-over. The two-day league opener was held at West Richland GC and Canyon Lakes GC in the Tri-Cities.

Bellevue next plays at Druids Glen GC in Covington at the league match hosted by Green River on April 23 and 24.
