Edmonds and Bellevue Softball “Swing for the Cure”

Bellevue College and Edmonds College softball teams pose together

On Tuesday, April 24, the Edmonds College softball team hosted Bellevue College in a region doubleheader as both teams sported pink and recognized and raised awareness for those battling cancer.

The “Swinging for a Cure” event raised money for Team Survivor Northwest, an organization with a mission of fitness and health education as a path to healing and dealing with cancer.

Both head Coaches Sheryl Gilmore (Edmonds) and Leah Francis (Bellevue) are committed to engaging in community service events with their teams. This was the second time this year that the two programs paired up in a community service project benefiting Team Survivor NW.

“For this event, their mission aligned perfectly and we are grateful for the support Team Survivor Northwest provides to those dealing with this tough disease. It was great to have both teams supporting NWAC softball’s annual awareness event!”
