Bellevue College men’s basketball showed they are a threat from the outside as the Bulldogs threw down 12 three-pointers in a convincing 96-73 win tonight at Courter Family Athletic Pavilion. The game featured 142 attempts from the field. Of Bellevue’s 72 attempts, 29 of them were from three-point territory.

Curtis Walker continued his all-around contributions again tonight with 18 points and 8 rebounds. The freshman guard also had three steals and was 5-for-6 from the free throw line. Walker’s board control helped Bellevue build up a 46-38 lead after one half. Malik Sanchez led Bellevue with 12 points in the first half.

In the second half Bellevue sustained a comfortable 10-12 point lead for the first 10 minutes. Newcomer Tijohn Rodde made two baskets at the 10:58 mark off a steal to begin a streak of points that allowed Bellevue to get into a comfort zone lead of 20 points heading into the final minutes of play. Rodde, in his first game of the year, came off the bench to score 11 points and added six rebounds as well in 20 minutes of action. Ting Jiao-Jian had a solid all-around night with 13 points and a team high seven assists.

Bellevue moves to 4-4 in league and 13-8 overall. The Bulldogs travel to north Seattle this Saturday for a 4:00 tipoff at Shoreline.
