A 41-35 halftime lead was not enough as the Bellevue College men’s basketball team fell to a hot shooting Olympic College squad last night, losing 81-70.

Olympic outscored Bellevue 46-29 in the second half as Bellevue shot only 32% from the field. However, foul trouble and OC’s ability to capitalize at the free throw line ultimately made the difference, as Olympic outscored Bellevue 12-1 at the free throw line on nine Bellevue fouls.

Curtis Walker had 16 points and had 11 rebounds to pace Bellevue. The loss puts Bellevue back into fourth place at 6-5 (15-9 overall). With only three games remaining, Bellevue will be in need of wins down the stretch to ensure a berth to the playoffs, with the top four in the North Region qualifying and only two spots left as both Everett and Edmonds have clinched berths in the North already.

Bellevue travels to first place and undefeated Everett this Wednesday February 27 for a 7:00 tipoff.
