Although a last second shot to win the game in regulation didn’t fall through, the Bellevue College women’s basketball team came away with a huge victory on the road at Everett in a 92-84 win at the Walt Price Center.

Natalie Amos made two clutch free throws with 14 seconds remaining to put Bellevue up by one, 77-76 but a Bellevue foul allowed Everett one final chance to win in it in regulation. The Trojans’ Kelsey Mellick, who had a career night with 50 points, could not get the back end of two free throws to drop, sending the game into overtime.

Bellevue wasted no time establishing control, and ultimately the game by coming out of the gate in OT with a three-pointer by Jorie Lambert. The ‘dogs would then hold the lead for good down the stretch.

Lambert’s three-pointer was one of five she made for the night, going an amazing 5-for-6 from long range. Amanda Luckett paced the Bulldogs with 27 points and 14 rebounds. Alexis Sykora came off the bench and was 9-for-14 on the night finishing with 18 points.

Bellevue is now 8-4 in league (12-12 overall). The Bulldogs are battling for anything ranging from a region title to being knocked out of playoffs in the next week with two games remaining. Bellevue has their home finale Saturday March 2 with a 1:00 p.m. tipoff vs. Peninsula. The game will also be sophomore day for the Bulldogs.
