Women’s Basketball Defeated By Peninsula

It wasn’t the sophomore home finale ending they were hoping for, as the Bellevue College women’s basketball team lost to Peninsula 82-57 today at Courter Family Athletic Pavilion. The Bulldogs were up after the first quarter 14-12 but lost momentum from there on out, getting outscored 70-43 in the final three quarters.

Bellevue was in it deep into the second quarter, down by only five 29-24 with 45 seconds left, but then gave up five quick points to head into halftime down 10. From there Peninsula cruised, getting up by as much as 18.Peninsula shot a scorching 63% in the final quarter to put the game away.

Bellevue could not take advantage of Peninsula fouls, shooting only 9-for-20 from the free throw line. Natalie Amos and Ashley Anderson had 17 and 16 points respectively to lead BC.

The Bulldogs have another snow make up game tomorrow against Skagit Valley. The ‘dogs must travel to Skagit’s home court and win in order to earn the final berth into the NWAC playoff first round (Sweet 16). Tipoff is set for 3:00 p.m.
