Women’s Tennis Wins League Opener Showdown Over Highline

In the annual battle of the top two dominant women’s teams in the NWAC, Bellevue College’s women’s tennis took down Highline College 6-3 late Friday night March 8 at the Boeing Employees’ Tennis Center in Kent. The Bulldogs who are reigning NWAC champions over runner-up Highline, won the league opener with depth as BC claimed singles four through six and doubles two and three to ultimately win it.

Annie Luong defeated Danielle Mendoza in a tough #2 singles battle 7-5, 7-5, but it was Ginevra Luger’s win that was the most dramatic and strung out victory of the night, 6-4, 6-7(7-9), 7-6(7-3). The tough pre-season schedule Bellevue played against four-year universities appeared to benefit the Bulldogs as they scored an impressive win. Here are the complete match results:
