Softball Sweeps At Shoreline

Bellevue vs Highline softball: Maddy Trout

After a sluggish start compared to the typical immediate blowout starts Bellevue College softball’s threatening offense typically puts up, the Bulldogs cruised to 9-4 and 20-4 wins today at Meridian Park against host Shoreline. In game one, the Bulldogs had only seven hits in the game but capitalized on six Dolphin errors in route to the win. Tori McDowell homered in each of the two big innings for Bellevue hitting a two-run blast in the second and Nashoni Boyd reached on an error and a three-run shot in the fifth scoring Lauren Schwartz and Tatum Dow.

In game two, the Bulldog bats returned to similar form as they have all year with 17 hits. They were aided this time by 11 Shoreline errors in the blowout which featured a 10-run sixth inning to end the game early. McDowell hit another homer as did Dow and Maddy Trout, who was 5-for-5 with four RBI’s.

The wins put Bellevue at 16-2 in league and 27-4 overall. The squad hosts Olympic College this Wednesday April 17 with first pitch slated for 2:00 p.m.
