Baseball Takes Four Over Weekend

Carter Wallace

Bellevue College baseball won four games over the weekend over Olympic College as the pitching staff allowed two total runs over a span of 34 innings against the Rangers. On Saturday, Bellevue took two at home by scores of 5-1 and 11-1 before winning a pair of 6-0 contests on the road in Bremerton yesterday at Knights Field.

In the opener, Brock Hathaway kept Olympic in check by scattering only four hits in six innings as the BC offense got going in the fourth with three doubles by Garrett Gants, Riley Parker, and Dylan Ames which gave Bellevue a comfortable 4-0 cushion. In the nightcap, Carter Wallace had three RBI’s including the walk-off in the seventh as the game ended early due to the run limit rule.

In the Sunday sweep, Nick Miller earned his sixth win this year as he and Eric Anderson both went seven innings on the mound without surrendering a run. Gants had five hits, three RBI’s a double and two triples in the sweep to lead the offense.

The eight-ranked Bulldogs are now 24-12 overall and 11-5 in league. They travel to Mount Vernon this Saturday May 4 for a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader against Skagit Valley.
