Women’s Golf Third at Highline Showdown

Bellevue College’s women’s golf team took third place at the Highline Showdown; the NWAC’s final league match. The two-day event concluded yesterday at Riverbend GC in Kent, and was hosted by Highline College. The Bulldogs shot a two-day total of +67; 20 shots behind tourney winner SW Oregon who shot a 47-over par total of 479.

Sophomore Emily Ngonevolalath finished tied for 7th overall with scores of 85-82 for a total of 167. SW Oregon’s Avery Gill was the medalist with 158. Makenzie Milton finished in a tie for 10th with rounds of 83-84 while Sam Gillett rebounded from a 95 on day one to a 79 yesterday to finished T19th.

The Bulldogs finished fourth overall in the NWAC regular season standings behind SW Oregon, Columbia Basin, and North Idaho. The squad has the next weekend off before then NWAC Championships on May 19-20 at the Home Course in Dupont, WA.
