Men’s Golf Makes Strong Run to Take Third at NWAC Championships

Zach Dea Men's golf 2019

Bellevue College men’s golf took third place overall at the NWAC Golf Championships which ended yesterday at the Home Course in Dupont, WA. The Bulldogs finished at 14 over par (590 team total), 21 strokes behind champion North Idaho College. After improving on their first round total by four strokes, the Bulldogs’ hopes ended as North Idaho shot a blistering 10-under par on day two. The Cardinals, who were the only team to break par as a team over the two days, saved their best golf for when it mattered the most.

Zach Dea shot even par 72 on both days to finish tied for fifth overall in the individual standings. Dea was anchored by Scott Rohlinger who fired rounds of 73-73 to finish in ninth overall. Ian Mackay shot 77-73 to finish tied for fourteenth while Chase Fisk rounded out Bellevue’s team scoring with rounds of 78-75 for a 153 total; good for a tie for 22nd overall.

For his even par rounds on both days, Dea was named to the NWAC All-Tournament Team.
