Women’s Soccer Tops Pierce

K Jaramillo BC women's soccer 2-19

After a week off from competition, the Bellevue College women’s soccer team opened up NWAC league play at home and won in strong fashion with a 4-0 win over Pierce yesterday. The defense, led by sophomore Kameron Jaramillo who played all 90 minutes, was outstanding as the ‘dogs prevented Pierce from getting any shots on goal the entire game.

Teaghen Sweckard, a freshman from Wyoming, struck first early in the contest on an assist by Malia Miller just 15 minutes into the first half. Miller then scored a goal herself assisted by Lauren Landis at the 38:50 mark.

The Bulldogs and Raiders played in cruise control for much of the second half as Bellevue maintained their 2-0 lead until late in the game as Donna Kvinge added a pair of goals in the final 12 minutes to put the game out of reach.

The Bulldogs were attacking all day as the squad had eight shots on goal.

Bellevue is now 1-0 in league play and 3-1 overall. The ‘dogs have a big in-region rival match at Highline this Wednesday September 11 at 1:00. The game will be played at Starfire Complex on field #2 in Tukwila.
