Men’s Soccer Falls to Highline

Bellevue College fell 9-1 to Highline College yesterday at Starfire Complex in Tukwila on a day in which Bellevue’s defense could not find an answer for the T-Birds’ aggressive offense. Highline had constant pressure on Bellevue’s keeper Jesus Ayala-Mendez, putting up an astounding 24 shots on goal including 15 in the first half. When the Bulldogs were able to get control of the ball on their side of the field, they managed only seven shots for the day.

Joel Lozano got things going for Highline scoring four minutes into the game then added another four minutes later. After spotting Highline a 3-0 lead, the ‘dogs finally got on the board on a goal by Giovani Perez, on an assist by Jacob Rodriguez at 20:00.

Bellevue is now 0-2 in league and 1-4-1 overall. They host Tacoma in another West Region matchup this Saturday September 14 at 2:15 p.m.
