Scott Rohlinger

Bellevue College’s men’s golf team started their 2019 fall season this weekend at the NW Collegiate Open hosted by Pacific Lutheran University at the Home Course in DuPont. The Bulldogs finished eighth overall in a competitive field of 12 mixed two- and four-year colleges in the northwest. Bellevue had a two-day total of 605 which equated to 29-over par for the top four scorers.

Freshman Tyler Spalti, fresh out of high school and an impressive summer on the junior circuit, began his college career with a bang by going low for the ‘dogs shooting rounds of 76-71. He finished tied for 14th overall in the individual standings. Sophomore returners Scott Rohlinger (75-74), Zach Dea (77-77), and Chase Fisk (76-81) closed out Bellevue’s scoring.

The Bulldogs team score topped four-year colleges Northwest Christian and Whitman in addition to NWAC foe, SW Oregon. Here are the complete results.

The squad gets little rest as they will take on NCAA division one teams at the University of Washington Invitational co-hosted by Olympic College at Gold Mountain GC in Gorst this Monday and Tuesday September 16-17.
