BC men’s golf took fifth place overall at the Olympic Invitational held at McCormick Woods GC in Port Orchard. The event was held in conjunction with the Husky Invitational hosted by the University of Washington at nearby Gold Mountain GC. In the Olympic Invitational, the Bulldogs took fifth with a score of +81 in their two rounds, competing against other NWAC and reserve players from NCAA division one schools who were competing at the neighboring tourney. Oregon State won the tourney with a score of +1.

On Monday September 17, the field played 36 holes, with Dallon Bennett leading the way for Bellevue shooting 14-over 84 on the first round but stormed back with a 2-over 74 in the second round. Bennett closed with three birdies and only one bogey on the back nine posting a 2-under 34. Ian MacKay fired rounds of 85 – 79 to finish +20 for BC as the Bulldogs’ second place golfer.

The third round which was slated for yesterday morning was cancelled due to heavy rains with scores posted after Monday’s 36 holes as the final scoring.

After back-to-back tourneys over three consecutive days, the men get a break before the Highline Invitational September 30-October 1 at Suncadia Resort in Roslyn, WA.
