Bulldog Men’s Soccer Tops South Puget Sound

BC men's soccer

Earlier in the year, Bellevue College men’s soccer made strides by winning their first game in over a year in a non-league win over Blue Mountain. Yesterday, BC men’s soccer took another step in the right direction with their first league win since 2017. In a game dominated on both fronts by Bellevue, the Bulldog men topped South Puget Sound yesterday 6-0 in NWAC West Region play at Bellevue College. The ‘dogs put pressure on the Clippers from the get-go scoring within the first ten minutes of the game as Rodrick Muya scored an unassisted goal at the 9:47 mark. Jackson Welch added a pair of goals within the next five minutes to give BC a comfortable 3-0 lead heading into halftime.

In the second half, Bellevue continued their domination with ball control on their side of the field for much of the contest, putting up 17 shots on goal for the day compared to only two for South Puget Sound. The constant pressure on the offensive side yielded three more goals in the second half as Kosuke Tsuji, Muya, and Masahiko Kaneko all added goals for the blowout win for BC.

The win puts Bellevue at 1-3 in league and 2-5-1 overall. The Bulldogs will face Pierce at Heritage Rec Center in Puyallup next Saturday September 28 at 2:15 p.m.
