Women’s golf Takes Third at Suncadia

Bellevue College women’s golf posted a 30-stroke improvement from round one to two; tops in the field, en route to a third-place finish at the Highline Invitational at Suncadia GC in Cle Elum. The Bulldogs bounced back from a rough opening day to shoot 259 yesterday in the final round. Freshman Mckenna Lamb, who made an impressive debut last week at the PLU Invitational shooting a 78 in rain-soaked conditions, followed up again this week with a 9-over round of 81 to lead the ‘dogs. Hunter Humbert also bounced back with a strong second round posting an 85. She was on a torrid pace going out on the front nine, shooting a blistering 2-over 38. A rough four-hole stretch on the back nine elevated her overall score but nevertheless carded a formidable round. Melena Hickok (198)  and Ashlyn Hohn (220) rounded out BC’s team.

The squad gets little rest as the team heads straight to the Saint Martin’s Invitational at Olympia Country and Golf Club this Friday and Saturday October 4-5.
