In another game showing the upswing of Bellevue College men’s soccer, the Bulldog men fell just short in a 3-2 loss to perennial contender Highline yesterday afternoon at Bellevue College. The game got off to an ugly start for Bellevue, as Highline’s Khai Brisco scored just 10 seconds into the game. The Bulldogs refused to give the T-Birds any more early momentum as BC’s defense clamped down, giving Rodrick Muya the opportunity to even the score up at 1-1 at the 30:10 mark off a pass from Kosuke Tsuji. The two teams went into halftime tied and exchanged another pair of goals midway through the second half turning the game into a nail-biter before Highline’s Cris Garfias-Lozano broke the tie with a goal 15 minutes into the second half. The game became a defensive battle for the final 30 minutes as BC could not find the back of the net for the remainder of the half.

The loss puts Bellevue at 1-4-1 in league and 2-6-2 overall. After the tough loss to second-place Highline, the squad will travel south to take on region leader Tacoma this Saturday October 5 for a 2:15 kickoff.
