Volleyball Falls In Five to Whatcom

Bellevue College women’s volleyball lost a heartbreaker last night in a five-set loss to Whatcom (25-23, 25-21, 18-25, 20-25, 10-15). After winning the first two sets and on the verge of getting revenge for an earlier loss at home to the current North Region leaders, the Bulldogs committed 21 errors in sets three and four to allow the Orcas to flip the momentum.

In set five, Whatcom controlled the ball allowing only 4 kills by BC in the decisive set. Whatcom stretched a close 7-5 set to 10-5 with a service ace and 2 kills and followed up later in the set with two kills by Hailee Blau to stretch a 12-9 lead to 14-9 to seal the win.

Bellevue is now 7-4 in North Region play and 23-11 overall. The Bulldogs host Everett on Wednesday November 6 at 7:00 p.m. The Bulldogs will be playing for second place in the North Region.
