Men’s Basketball Lose Close One to South Puget Sound

On day three of the North Idaho Crossover in Coeur d’ Alene, ID, the Bellevue College men’s basketball team lost a 15-point lead in the second half, falling to South Puget Sound 67-63. Bellevue went 0-for-7 down the stretch and did not score after Trevon Richmond’s bucket at the 4:00 mark as the Clippers snuck a win away from BC.

Early in the second half, a three-pointer by Tijohn Rodde gave Bellevue a comfortable 46-31 lead. Three bombs from three point land and a regular field goal quickly cut the deficit to six and suddenly South Puget Sound was back in the game. The game was a see-saw back and forth game until the final minute as Anthony Braggs drained a key 15-footer at the 1:17 mark to put South Puget Sound up 66-63.  The Clippers burned nearly 30 seconds off the clock to force Bellevue into desperation foul mode in which South Puget Sound responded as Branden Bunn made both free throws to seal the win.

Bellevue is now 1-10 on the year and will take the holidays off before squaring off at Highline on Monday December 30 at 6:00 p.m.
