Bulldog Women Sail Over Clipppers

Makenna Faulkner BC women's basketball

Bellevue College women’s basketball rode a 27-11 first quarter lead en route to an easy 70-48 win over South Puget Sound in the final day of the Skagit Holiday Tourney in Mount Vernon. Freshman Rokki Brown led the charge going a perfect 3-for-3 from three-point territory and had 11 points in the first quarter to lead BC. Brown ended the night with 14 points and 6 rebounds.

Two other players, Makenna Faulkner and Kate Rutledge also had big games for the ‘dogs. Faulkner was 5-for-9 from the field and had 9 rebounds (team high). Freshman Kate Rutledge came off the bench and shot nothing but three-pointers, going 4-for-8 with 12 points and also snagged 6 rebounds, proving she is not a one-dimensional player.

The Bulldogs’ force underneath proved to be the difference as the Bulldogs outrebounded the Clippers 49-31 for the game.

Bellevue is now 7-3 overall and has a 10-day break until their league-opener January 8 vs. Peninsula at 5:00 p.m. at Courter Family Athletic Pavilion.
