Women’s Basketball In Control With Win at Skagit Valley

Bellevue College women’s basketball flexed their muscle in a dominating 63-42 win last night in Mount Vernon. The Bulldogs controlled the game defensively with a 50-29 rebounding edge which allowed the ‘dogs to get off 74 shots in the game, including going 10-for-25 from three-point range.

After being down 18-13 in the first quarter and holding a slim 28-24 lead at halftime, Bellevue dominated the second half allowing Skagit only 18 total points in the half. The 21-10 third quarter blowout put Bellevue into cruise control as the ‘dogs had 10 offensive rebounds alone in the quarter. Addy Clabby, Mo Bungay and KK Bracy all drained three-pointers in the scoring spree.

The win was one of Bellevue’s biggest team efforts as 10 players scored and collected rebounds as well. Freshman Rokki Brown led Bellevue with 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Bellevue is now 1-1 in league (8-4 overall) and will host Whatcom this Wednesday January 15 at 5:00 p.m.
