Edmonds Too Much For Bellevue

Although Bellevue rallied back twice to make things interesting, visiting Edmonds’ offense was just too much in an 87-74 loss last night at Courter Family Athletic Pavilion. The Bulldogs’s defense allowed Edmonds to have a whopping 79-58 shot advantage which ultimately prevented Bellevue from gaining any more traction than they did during their two brief spurts of hope.

After racing out to a 7-2 lead, Edmonds let BC back into it as a Tijohn Rodde jump shot made it 12-11 Bellevue. Newcomer Kevin Keowla added a bucket for BC’s biggest, and final lead at 14-11 before Edmonds took control in the first half with a 36-28 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Bellevue got to within one at 53-52 at the 12:51 mark but lost momentum as Edmonds quickly stretched the lead to 12 in a five minute stretch at which Bellevue lost steam and failed to threaten for the remainder of the game.

Trevon Richmond and Jalen Womack had 20 and 19 points respectively while Trey Lawrence had another game of rebounding presence leading the team with 10.

Bellevue travels to Bremerton this Saturday January 25 to take on Olympic at 4:00 p.m.
