Luckett Powers Women to Win at Olympic

Bellevue College women’s basketball took a somewhat competitive game and turned it into a blowout with at 27-11 fourth quarter run to defeat host Olympic College 81-60 yesterday afternoon in Bremerton. Sophomore Amanda Luckett led the way with 17 points and 12 rebounds for Bellevue. In the pivotal fourth quarter, Luckett scored 8 points and had 5 of her rebound total to fuel the run.

Up only 54-52 to start the fourth quarter, Luckett got things going with a layup making it 56-52. The ‘dogs would then go on a 13-point run making it 69-52 until Olympic finally scored their first point in the quarter on  an Isis Crew free throw with 5:23 to go in the game. All of Luckett’s fourth quarter points came in that stretch.

Mo Bungay was 4-of-7 from three-point land and chipped in 14 points for Bellevue.

The Bulldogs took a share of the lead for the North Region with their 4-1 record (11-4 overall). Bellevue travels to Everett this Wednesday January 29 for a 5:00 tipoff against the Trojans.
