Bellevue College women’s basketball used it’s depth tonight to overtake Skagit Valley’s thin roster in a 71-55 win tonight at Courter Family Athletic Pavilion. The Bulldogs went 11 deep as the team used their numbers advantage over Skagit Valley’s roster which has only six members on it. After being down 19-18 at the end of the first quarter, the fatigue started to set in for Skagit Valley as Bellevue built up a  nine point lead at halftime, 36-27. Skagit made only 3-of-13 shots in the second quarter which swung the momentum to BC’s favor for the remainder of the night.

The Bulldogs then erupted for 25 points in the third quarter as freshman Rokki Brown led the way shooting 4-for-4 from the field including two three-pointers for 10 points in the quarter. Mo Bungay had 16 points and 5 assists to lead the ‘dogs with Brown.

Bellevue is now 7-2 (14-5 overall) and will travel to Bellingham this Wednesday February 12 for a 5:00 contest against Whatcom. The two squads recently battled for first place a week ago due to an earlier weather postponement.
