Volleyball Runs to 2-0 With Big Road Win at Whatcom

Bellevue College women’s volleyball with a fresh new roster continued their sharp play from Tuesday’s season-opening win over Skagit Valley with a 3-1 win over host Whatcom last night at Orca Pavilion. After falling in set one 25-17, the Bulldogs controlled sets two and three winning by scores of 25-14 and 25-19 before battling out a tough fourth set 25-21 to close out the win.

BC capitalized on miscues by Whatcom all night as the Orcas averaged about 9 errors in each set over sets two through four. BC came back after the rough start hitting at a .200 clip in set two in the dominating win.

OH Arianna Bilby was all over the court on both ends leading BC with 9 kills and 16 digs. She also had 3 service aces for the ‘dogs. Defensive specialist Kate Hansen had 21 digs and also had 3 aces while sophomore Savannah Sleasman had 6 kills and 11 digs on the night.

Bellevue is now 2-0 on the year and is scheduled to host Everett next Tuesday night April 13 at 7:00 pm.
