Men’s Basketball Bounces Back With Tough Road Win at Peninsula

Men's Basketball

Coming off a heartbreaking loss to Skagit Valley last Wednesday, the Bulldogs’ men’s basketball team gutted out a 75-67 road win at Peninsula on Saturday April 10. Bellevue made adjustments from their previous game and kept the offense going full throttle in the second half by outscoring the Pirates 40-30 to take home the win.

O’Landa Baker continues to impress as a newcomer Bulldog as he led the squad with 24 points and 6 steals. Baker was incredibly efficient in the key second half, shooting 5-for-8 from the field.

After being behind or tied for most of the second half, the ‘dogs had a key run with 3:25 left in the game as a layup by Ben Oleson, dunk by Isaiah Dunn, followed by a steal and breakaway layup by Baker flipped a tie game into a commanding BC lead in a little over a minute.

In the final minute of the game, BC prevented Peninsula any chance of a comeback with clutch free throws as Oleson and Maui Sze contributed both ends of their free throws late in the game to seal the win.

Bellevue is now 2-1 on the year and hosts Edmonds this Wednesday April 14 at 7:30 p.m.
