
Although their records were polar opposites heading into yesterday’s game with Bellevue coming in at 5-0 and Lower Columbia at 0-5, the Bulldogs could not take the Red Devils lightly as Lower Columbia gave BC although they could handle in a 2-1 win for Bellevue.
Lower Columbia was aggressive on offense, led by the three goal attempts by Marissa Moyle. Bellevue’s Celia La Guardia was strong in the goalie box with three saves. Bellevue’s Marisa McFarland scored just past the halfway mark in the first half to put BC up 1-0 heading into halftime. Fatumata Dukureh added a second goal at the 55:33 mark early in the second half.
Although up 2-0, Lower Columbia had chances and scored with just under 20 minutes to go to make it 2-1 but could not capitalize on any opportunity for the remainder of the game.
Bellevue sits atop the West Region standings at 3-0-1 and plays next Tuesday April 27 at Centralia.
