Tori Berger was on fire during Monday’s opening round and only got hotter on Tuesday as the freshman lefty phenom shot 77-74 to take home medalist honors and led Bellevue College to their seventh straight tourney title at the I-5 Invitational at the Home Course.
Berger opened her round with a birdie then went out with a 38 on the front nine. The consistent play only got better on the back with six straight pars and came home with an even par 36 for her final round 74; the lowest round of the tournament.
Berger bested teammate Sarah Lawrence who shot 78 while Ashley Clark finished fourth overall.
The Bulldogs capped off the best season in women’s golf history by sweeping all seven tourneys they were entered in this spring. The squad also took home a two titles in the fall for a grand total of nine tournament wins out of ten this year.
