Volleyball Sweeps Pierce

Bellevue College volleyball rebounded back strongly from two losses last weekend in a dominating straight set win over visiting Pierce College, 25-20, 25-17, 25-20. One of the top teams in the NWAC and leaders in the West Region, Pierce had difficulty defending BC all night as the Bulldogs got strong swings off all night, hitting .365 for the match.

In the third set, Bellevue pulled away from a 9-9 tie on four straight kills; two each by Eva Irizarry and Ariana Bilby. Bilby led the attack with 15 kills on just 3 errors. Meg Perry had 9 kills and only one error while another freshman, Marin Mackey had 8 kills and only 2 errors. Malia Honrud had 24 assists while Savannah Sleasman led the defense with 11 digs.

Bellevue is now 10-4 and travels to Pierce tomorrow to face the Raiders again but on their home court at 7:00 p.m.
