Pierce Volleyball Tops Bellevue

Two days after a 3-0 straight set drubbing to host Bellevue, Pierce College bounced back strongly to win in straight sets on their home court, as the two teams battled again last night in Lakewood with Pierce winning 25-23, 25-21, 25-18.

The Bulldogs played evenly with the Raiders in set one, but gradually lost momentum as the sets went on, hitting at a .037 clip in the final set. In sets one and two, BC was right in it until the end but Pierce’s offense slammed home consecutive kills to seal wins in both sets to control the momentum into set three.

The Raiders came out swinging in set three and were aided by more BC errors to compound the lead as the Bulldogs struggled to keep the set competitive down the stretch, unlike sets one and two.

Freshman Meg Perry was the hot hitter for Bellevue, hitting at  .438 clip on only one error and had 8 kills.

Bellevue wrapped up pre-season play at 10-5 and open up North Region competition this Wednesday September 22 with a 7:00 p.m. matchup at Shoreline.
