Bellevue College men’s soccer could survive an offensive marathon as host Peninsula defeated the Bulldogs 5-3. After falling behind 2-0, the two teams combined for six goals in the second half; each recording three apiece. The early Peninsula 2-0 lead was built in the first fifteen minutes of the match as BC appeared to be overmatched and fell into an even bigger hole early in the second half on two quick goals, falling behind 4-0 only minutes into the second half.
Bellevue didn’t give up any fight as the ‘dogs put in two goals at the 65:00 mark as Thomas Nguyen and Lazaro Luna scored to make it 4-2. The two teams would then each score a goal, keeping Bellevue out of reach.
In all the match featured 27 shots (11 for Peninsula, 16 for Bellevue) and was a physical game as well, with BC committing 13 fouls.
Bellevue falls to 0-1-2 in league and 1-2-3 overall. The Bulldogs host Everett this Wednesday September 22 at 4:15 p.m.
