Men’s Soccer Falls At Whatcom

In a physical and emotional match on both sides, host Whatcom defeated Bellevue 3-1 yesterday in men’s soccer action at Orca Field. The intensity was high from the beginning as BC received two yellow cards in the first fifteen minutes of play. The energy helped as Thomas Nguyen put Bellevue on the board first at the 18:20 mark to put Bellevue up 1-0. Whatcom would answer just before halftime to tie it up at the 36:39 mark.

The Orcas made adjustments in the second half and dominated the ball, getting off 12 shots compared to 0 for Bellevue. The Orcas netted two more goals early that were aided by a red card to BC’s Nguyen at the 56:40 mark.

The match had a total of 30 fouls in between the two squads as the undefeated Orcas (7-0) sailed to victory.

Bellevue is now 0-3-2 in league (1-4-3 overall) and has a week off before traveling to Olympia to take on South Puget Sound next Saturday October 2 at 2:15.
