Women’s Soccer Falls at Lower Columbia

Bellevue College women’s soccer had little momentum and energy from the beginning as the Bulldogs fell 7-0 to host Lower Columbia yesterday in Longview. The Red Devils, who were actually behind Bellevue in the West Region standings prior to the match, played as if they were the front-runners in the conference as they scored just three minutes into the game on a goal by Grace Bergstedt. Lower Columbia wasted no time with ball control on their side much of the first half by scoring again at the 10:48 mark. A pair of goals near the end of the first half put the Red Devils up 4-0.

BC restored somewhat of a balance in control in the second half as the Bulldogs managed to get three shots off on goal but came up empty as the Red Devils continued their dominance over BC’s defense and tacked on three more to seal the win.

Bellevue is now 4-4-1 in league play and 5-7-2 overall. The ‘dogs host Centralia this Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
