Sarah Lawrence

Bellevue College women’s golfer Sarah Lawrence put on a show at the NWAC Invitational golf tournament by shooting 5-under par 67 to win medalist honors today. The 36-hole tourney, held at AppleTree GC in Yakima, featured all of the NWAC teams as a preview of the upcoming season. Lawrence blistered the field by 14 strokes shooting 75 on day one before the phenomenal round today. After going 1-under on the front nine, Lawrence birdied the first three holes on the back nine. Her perfection was briefly broken with a bogey on 15 but then eagled the final hole for the win.

The Bulldog team finished second to North Idaho in team scores. The ‘dogs leapfrogged Spokane for runner-up after being in third for most of the day as Lawrence eagled 18, Spokane’s Courtney Stratton quadruple-bogeyed the final hole for a six-shot swing.

Tia Wolcott shot 85-82 to finish tied for ninth while Tori Berger rounded out BC’s scoring with rounds of 86-86. Bryn Lawson (86-91) and Selena Lee (108-88) also participated for the Bulldogs.
