Volleyball Falls to Skagit Valley

Meg Perry BC VB

A good thing unfortunately came to an end last night as the red-hot Bellevue College volleyball team, riding one of the best win streaks in the conference, fell in uncharacteristic fashion, being swept 3-0 at Skagit Valley last night. The Bulldogs could not make adjustments and turned in one of their most frustrating matches all season as the ‘dogs could not get anything going offensively the entire night.

Bellevue hit below a .100 average for the night; a season low and had 17 errors on swings. Unable to switch momentum in any of three sets, the Bulldogs seemed to repeat their play after falling in the first set.  Skagit took the three sets by scores of 25-15, 25-19, 25-17.

Meg Perry was the lone bright spot for BC with seven kills and only one error.

Bellevue is now 7-2 and is back in a logjam for a potential league title with Edmonds, Whatcom, and Skagit Valley. Bellevue hosts Olympic this Friday before what could be a pivotal match deciding the league title next Wednesday November 3 at Whatcom. Fans attending this Friday are reminded that all fans entering must provide verification of covid-vaccine or a negative test within the last 72 hours, per Governor Jay Inslee’s indoor event mandate that went into effect this past Monday.
