Women’s Tennis Falls In Non-League Matches

Bellevue College women’s tennis made their 2022 debut competing against four-year colleges, falling 5-4 to Willamette and 9-0 to Linfield on Saturday.

The Bulldogs ended up losing the closely contested Willamette match due to forfeits in #3 doubles and #6 singles as the Bulldogs’ five player roster did not have enough players to field three full doubles teams. BC’s Alixandra Huffman won #2 singles 6-1, 6-3 while Jadyn Mueller won her college debut sweeping #3 singled 6-0, 6-1. Justine Mongkornkeo won #4 singles 6-0, 6-2 while Emily Habib took home #5 singles 6-2, 6-3.

Against a stronger Linfield team, the ‘dogs struggled, taking only two sets in the top four singles matches while getting swept 6-0, 6-0 in two of them. Habib gave the Bulldogs their best showing against Linfield, losing 6-4, 6-1 in #5 singles.

The Bulldogs travel to the University of Puget Sound this Sunday February 27 with first serve at 10:00 a.m.
