Whatcom Tops BC Men’s Soccer

Bellevue College men’s soccer fell 2-0 today to visiting Whatcom in an early North Region matchup at Bellevue College. The Orcas had a significant advantage in ball control over Bellevue, as they delivered 17 shots as compared to only two for the Bulldogs. BC had little, if any, chances to score as the squad had difficulty overcoming Whatcom’s defense.

Whatcom got on the board at the front and tail ends of the match, scoring just three minutes into the match then tacking on the second goal near the end of completion.

Bellevue’s Johan Gaytan received a red card early in the match just two minutes into competition. Whatcom rode the high emotions to net the first goal just minutes after on an unassisted goal by Flavio Espinoza.

Whatcom stayed undefeated in region play at 4-0 while Bellevue fell to 2-1-1 (3-1-1) overall. The ‘dogs play Skagit Valley this Saturday at 2:45 PM.
