Bellevue College volleyball won handily in three sets over host Edmonds tonight by scores of 25-17, 25-14, 25-22. In what typically is a dog fight annually, BC was under control from the beginning as the Bulldogs hit at a .350 clip for the night as the defensive front came up huge resulting in a .03 hit percentage for the final two sets.
Bellevue cruised through sets one and two before Edmonds posed a threat in set three. At one point BC held a 19-14 lead and seemed on track for a blowout in all three sets before Edmonds rallied to make it a competitive match as the Tritons scratched their way back to a 20-19 deficit. Edmonds would hang with Bellevue until two errors and a putaway by AJ Gueller ended the match 25-22.
Marin Mackey led Bellevue with eight kills on only one error along with two block assists. Taylor Pederson and Lauren Wittmers had nine and eight assists respectively while Tommi Gallucci had eight digs.
Bellevue is now 2-0 in league and 16-5 overall. The ‘dogs host Olympic next Wednesday at 7:00 PM.
