With Halloween approaching, the Bellevue College women’s volleyball team survived a preliminary scare with a first set loss to overtake the host Olympic Rangers 3-1 by scores of 21-25, 25-23, 25-16, 25-12.

The scores in all four sets reflect the efficiency swing from Olympic having control in set one to BC’s dominance by set four.

After a rusty first set in which Bellevue hit a .088 percentage, Olympic was firing on all cylinders with 10 kills and only three errors.

From there on though, it was all Bellevue as BC’ hitting percentage went from .088 in set one to .219 to .333 to .471 in set four while OC dropped from .292 to -.15 in set four.

Transfer Makenna Mosher led Bellevue with 10 kills and only one error for a hit percentage of .562. She also led the ‘dogs up front with three block assists. Marin Mackey continued her hot streak with 15 kills and only two errors and added a team-high 12 digs.

The Bulldogs continue to lead the North Region at 8-1 (22-6 overall) and will take a five match win streak into their next competition next Wednesday October 26 hosting Skagit Valley at 7:00 PM. The match will likely determine the North Region champion as both teams sit near the top of the region standings.
