Men’s Basketball Falls In Final Seconds

Bishop Tosi

Bellevue College men’s basketball lost 93-92 last night at Clackamas as the Cougars’ Andre Best drained both free throws after being fouled with one second to go in the game. Up 92-91, Bellevue appeared to be on their way to victory with possession of the ball with only 10 seconds remaining. A steal by Clackamas’ TJ Doman set up the opportunity for Best to sink the clutch free throws to steal the win from BC.

BC fell behind 23-12 early in the game but fought back to take the lead 33-32 as Prophet Johnson and Bishop Tosi led the charge for the ‘dogs netting 14 points between the two of them in a two-minute span.

From there it was a back and forth battle with BC leading by as much as nine points before the Cougars kept battling back down the stretch.

Johnson, a freshman, led BC with 32 points on 11-for-17 shooting. He made 9-of-10 from the line as well. Tosi had 17 with six rebounds while Owen Moriarty chipped in 16.

Bellevue is 1-2 and will travel next weekend to play a pair of games in Walla Walla on Friday December 2 vs. Columbia Basin at 4:00 p.m. before a matchup with host Walla Walla on Saturday December 3 at 6:00 p.m.
