Women’s Basketball Tops Wenatchee

Bellevue College women’s basketball used the long ball to defeat Wenatchee Valley 66-52 last night in Port Angeles as part of a four-team round robin hosted by Peninsula College. BC made 12-of-25 from three-point range and shot 45% in comparison to the Knights’ four-for-25 and 15% showing from three-point range.

Sav Huerta continued her hot shooting with 24 points while the ‘dogs also received solid games from Helena Van Ess (13 points, seven rebounds, seven assists) and Bri Byrnes (15 points, five rebounds, six assists). Byrnes led the critical fourth quarter in which BC pulled away for good and stretched the lead to comfort zone with perfect three-for-three shooting.

Bellevue plays Lower Columbia in round two today at 11:00 a.m before finishing off with their South Region game tomorrow vs. Chemeketa at 10:00 a.m.
