Bellevue College hit a road block today falling to Umpqua (OR) 87-57 today in day two action at the Lower Columbia Holiday Classic in Longview, WA. The Riverhawks dominated with their rebounding, holding a 54-24 edge over BC. The rebounding dominance allowed Umpqua multiple shot opportunities which, along with their 46% shooting percentage, accounted for the blowout.
In a low-scoring first quarter, Bellevue was down just 12-6 before the margin was extended on Umpqua’s side. The Riverhawks offense poured it on scoring 33, 22, and 20 points in quarters two through four.
Sav Huerta had nearly half of BC’s points with 27 on the night as the perimeter was Bellevue’s only shot. The Bulldogs were a collective three-for-25 from play down beneath.
