Offense Explodes in Win Over Edmonds

When it rains, it pours, and the pouring was the shooting of Bellevue College men’s basketball as nearly everything was falling in a 124-98 win over visiting Edmonds at Courter Family Athletic Pavilion. The shootout started out with BC putting up 54 points in the first half which then ballooned to a 70 point second half in one of the biggest offensive eruptions in the team’s history.

With the offense firing on all cylinders from the beginning, the Bulldogs were in control the entire game, and led by as much as 15 in the first half and led by 35 points in the second half.

The ‘dogs made two-thirds of their shots making 46-of-69 and were led by Aydan Janssan who was 12-of-16 and had 26 points. The ‘dogs had all five starters in double digits as Prophet Johnson had 25 points and eight assists and Owen Moriarty adding 20 points and 6 rebounds. Sayerr Senghore had 20 points while Bishop Tosi had 14 points and pulled down eight rebounds.

The win was a big one for Bellevue as Edmonds came into the game in second place. Bellevue is now 5-4 in North Region play and catapulted into a two-way tie for third place with Everett.

Bellevue, now 15-8 overall, hosts last place Whatcom this Wednesday Feb. 15 at 7 p.m.
