Bulldogs Clinch NWAC Playoff Berth

The Bellevue College men’s basketball team will get a chance to top their NWAC runner-up finish from last year as the Bulldogs clinched a post season berth with a 91-72 win over visiting Shoreline.

Bellevue shot the lights out leading 41-19 at halftime. They were 17-for-34 from the field and put the burners on in the final three minutes of the half on a dunk by Sayerr Senghore, and a trio of three pointers from Senghore, Owen Moriarty, and Aydan Janssan.

The closest Shoreline could get in the second half was 13 points as Prophet Johnson drilled home 22 points in the half on seven-of-eight shooting. Bellevue was even hotter in the second half converting on 62% from the field. The ‘dogs were consistent at the line as well draining 13-of-14.

Johnson had 30 points and six steals while Moriarty had 23 points. He was four-for-five from three point range as well.

Bellevue will now play for seeding and placing in the North Region this Wednesday in their season finale March 1 at Olympic. Bellevue is currently in a three-way tie for second place in the North Region with one game to play.
