Bellevue College softball swept a pair of games at Everett by scores of 20-15 in extra innings and 21-18. In the opener, the ‘dogs needed 11 innings to come back and take the win. Down 8-3 early on, Bellevue rallied for six runs in the sixth to take a 9-8 lead but surrendered a run in the seventh to send it to extras. After each team plated three runs apiece in the tenth, the slugfest went Bellevue’s way in the eleventh as they put up six runs led by the grand slam by Katie Fodge. Christina Tadvick, Isabella Qunell each homered along with Fodge while Kelci Studioso blasted three out.

In the nightcap, Studioso went off again with a five-for-six game including two doubles, two triples, three RBI’s, three runs, and a stolen base. Katie Fodge slammed two home runs while Tadvick, Morgan Sunchild, Qunell, and Kaci Imus each had solo shots. The ‘dogs again rallied late, putting up eight runs in the sixth for the win. Fodge, Qunell and Tadvick all hit their home runs in the inning, accounting for seven of the eight runs in the frame.

The two teams collected for 74 runs and 78 hits on the day. The offensive spree was a contrast to last year’s battles which were low scoring pitching duels in the circle between two of the top teams in the NWAC.

Winners of their last 12 games, Bellevue hosts another strong region rival, Douglas, this Saturday April 1 at noon.
