Second-ranked Bellevue College softball won all four games this weekend at the NWAC Crossover Tourney in Yakima. Bellevue held on for a 6-5 win over North Idaho in the opener. The Cardinals made it interesting scoring runs in the sixth and seventh off Bellevue ace Kaci Imus. North Idaho had their chance to tie but pinch runner Emily Schulhauser was caught trying to score on a double by Hattie Imbler-Bremner.

In game two BC topped another East Region squad, Blue Mountain, 13-10. Bellevue rallied in the bottom of the seventh to win as Isabella Qunell was three-for-four with four RBI’s, including the walkoff three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh.

On day two, BC put up big numbers in a 26-13 win over Treasure Valley. Imus and Morgan Shults each had four hits while Katie Fodge had a whopping seven RBI’s on two home runs. BC plated the 26 runs on 22 hits, 11 of which were for extra bases.

And the grand finale was the showdown that was much anticipated; a re-match of last year’s NWAC title game between Bellevue and Mount Hood. Bellevue would come out on top 12-7 in a game that ended up being not as close as most anticipated. The ‘dogs jumped ahead 7-0 and cruised as Fodge again was an offensive machine going three-for-four with three RBI’s. Kelci Studioso had four RBI’s .

The Bulldogs are the hottest team in the NWAC with a 22 game win streak and sit at an impressive 12-0 mark in North Region play and 25-2 overall.

This Sunday’s games against Olympic have been postponed due to game official issues. The ‘dogs will host Highline on Saturday April 29 at noon.
