Bellevue College women’s golf made a valiant run at eventual champion University of Fraser Valley but fell nine strokes short at the SW Oregon Invitational held at the prestigious Bandon Dunes Golf Resort.
Sarah Lawrence, who has carried BC women’s golf for the past three years, finished runner-up with rounds of 78-76. Tia Wolcott finished right behind Lawrence with rounds of 82-78 to finish third overall. Jasmine Knudson shot a pair of 86s to close out Bellevue’s team scoring.
The Bulldogs get a few days off before heading to Yakima to prepare for the NWAC Championships May 21-22 at Apple Tree GC in Yakima. Lawrence and Wolcott were two key players from last year’s NWAC title team looking to defend this upcoming week.
