Softball Sweeps To End Regular Season

BC softball

Bellevue College softball continued to be one of the most dominant teams in the program’s history winning their 34th game in row by sweeping Douglas today 4-3 and 13-5. In the opener BC got a scare after jumping out 3-0 as Douglas plated two runs in the final inning of ace Kaci Imus but left the tying run stranded at third base. Christina Tadvick got things going early on for the Bulldogs with a home run before doubles by Imus and Katie Fodge.

In the nightcap, the bats exploded as the ‘dogs put up all 13 runs in the first three innings for the win. In the first inning, BC scored five runs on four consecutive hits as Morgan Shults, Katie Fodge, Haley Winckler, and Zoey Morris went single-double-double-single for five runs. Morgan Sunchild was three for three with four RBIs and a home run to lead the offense.

The wins put Bellevue’s regular season final record at 24-0 and riding a 34 game win streak, one of the longest in NWAC history. The Bulldogs possibly will be the number one seed (rankings and seedings have not been published yet) which would put them in the 12:30 game on Thursday May 18 in the opening round of the NWAC Championships at Delta Park in Portland.
